Happy Patrick's Day!
I hope everyone is having an amazing St. Patrick's Day so far. Does anyone have any crazy and fun plans for tonight? Please share with this lame teacher who is probably going to go to bed at 9 o'clock. Not that I don't love St. Patrick's Day, but there is just nothing appealing to me about being hungover and dealing with 5 year olds. Oh and did I mention I have to give a presentation to next year's kindergarten parents tomorrow night?
Last time St. Patrick's Day was on a Wednesday, here I was...
Yes that is a Starbucks apron...
Apparently sophomore year of college Kelly is less concerned about Thursday mornings :) Oh and I'm sure you are also wondering why I have braids in my hair. Sophomore year of college Kelly had just returned from Aruba.
Yes, life was good.
But last year's St. Patrick's Day was fun too (I celebrated on the weekend haha)
So how did I celebrate this year?
Last night I really wanted oatmeal for dinner, but I also knew I needed some veggies so I made an Irish flag of veggies :)
Zucchini, Parsnips & Carrots!
Oh and I also packed my gym bag with...
On the right: my clothes for the gym
On the left: my clothes for work
Sure, I may not be fun on St. Patrick's Day anymore, but I can still dress like it, right?
Do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day? How? What is your favorite St. Patrick's Day memory?
If you are not a St. Patrick's Day person, what is your favorite green veggie?
ha, I love the clothes and I'm with you - will be in bed within a few hours but still do love the holiday :)
ReplyDeleteEveryone outside is drunk and yelling. I am jealous. What kind of teacher schedules a test the day after St. Patty's day? REALLY!?
ReplyDeleteBut I like your green, I was surprised how many people wore green today!
i'm not doing anything exciting but i did pinch two people for not wearing green :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a teacher also (4th grade) so I wore my green and made Irish Soda Bread for the kids to have. They loved it :)
ReplyDeleteIts a fun holiday, and I love thinking of spring in Ireland :) I have the daffodils for that. Haha and the Irish husband. We are watching The Quiet Man and going to sleep. I did make Brussels sprouts tonight too, so there's the green.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I did to celebrate this year was was a great St. Patty's day shirt to school. Fun times! :)
ReplyDeleteYou know, I don't think I have ever done anything really fun for St. Patrick's day. It's just not something I get excited about. I did run in a green shirt today...
ReplyDeleteyeah... i celebrated by running in the rain sunday ;) not so much today... although i did wear a green tank top!
ReplyDeleteI wore a green shirt to work today and went for a run - that is how I celebrated the holiday!
ReplyDeleteI will also probably be in bed soon...
St. Patrick's Day is definitely more fun on the weekend. I've been in my pajamas all night. Although I did drink a beer.
ReplyDeleteOMG when I saw the sign for Moomba Beach I about just fell off my chair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe have a place in Aruba and go every year for at least a month, sometimes more! Wow!!!!! Small world as that's a very tiny little bar and I was like no way, and then I read that indeed, she had been to aruba. Wow!
I have tons of pics & posts from our trip this past year, here's a few not that you even care but it's just such a small world i can't resist

Have a great nite!!!!!
I've never really celebrated St. Patrick's Day, other than the traditional meal my mom used to make. I think you made a good call...five year olds are a handful even when you are on the top of your game. (And their parents can be too!)
ReplyDeleteI remember always secretly hoping my brother wouldn't wear green so I could pinch him all day! Yeah...I was kind of a mean sister! haha!
ReplyDeleteLove the St. Patty's day outfits :) I don't celebrate SP day any more really. I did manage to make it out for one beer last night but it wa a Yuengling, not a Guiness :)
ReplyDeleteI made soda bread and went to work! Party animal!
ReplyDeleteI love St. Patty's Day. ;) Last night I went out with some girls and had some nice beverages.. ;) Went out last Satrday with some friends. My FAVORITE st. pats was 2007 when I bar hopped around town to all the Irish and non-Irish bars with a bunch of friends.. good times!
