Just Some Kindergarten

You have a little while longer to enter my chia seeds giveaway. I'll announce the winner this weekend!

So, good times at work today. I had a substitute assistant who legit talked to herself. And, I definitely lost her at one point the afternoon. Not one of the kids, the substitute. This was after she spent a half an hour cleaning my sink...and then another several hours using all of my wipes to clean each chair in the classroom... I truly wonder sometimes where they find these people.

In other news I have this little girl in my class who's been having some issues at home and she's been really huggy lately. Not that I normally refuse to hug my kids, but I've been encouraging it more than usual with her because I know she needs some extra love. SO...today she is giving me a hug and she stops mid hug, backs up, touches my stomach and says..."Are you having a baby???"

And, no. But thanks for asking! I try to tell people I look pregnant when I'm bloated but no one ever believes me. This is why we need six year olds to tell us the truth in life :)

Tomorrow morning I'll be posting Flashback Friday- Australia style. Check back for lots of fun pictures!

  1. You are such a good teacher! It must be hard to see kids going through things that you can't necessarily control, but I am sure you help them SO much!

  2. Wow, I have a teacher in my school that gets those comments all the time for her 2nd graders. It's clear they have not yet developed their self-censor for what's appropriate to ask and what is not!

I bet you're hugs are having an incredible impact on that little girl...she knows you truly care.

  3. Oh, no! The pregnancy question?! It doesn't feel as bad coming from a kid than coming from an adult. I just got my 5th or 6th "Are you pregnant?" this month from a lady who was making my sub. I hate getting that question!!

And I swear this sub you mentioned sounds EXACTLY like one of the teachers at my preschool. She's a wacko, too.

  6. I've been asked if I was pregnant TWICE in my life - by adults. not cool. I cried the first time.

Gotta love how honest kids are & how they jump to conclusions so quickly!!

  11. Oh how... sweet.. lol!!! I've gotten the "oh are you pregnant?" so many times (ugh) but I think getting it from a kid is probably the least worst. We all get bloated!!

  12. Hahahaha kids really do say the funniest things! I work with 2 year olds and a few of their moms have recently had babies so now its appropriate for them to ask ANY female: is there a baby in your belly??
