I Need To...

I'm glad you guys enjoyed my Travel Tuesday post yesterday. Let me know if you have anything specific you want to hear about in future Travel posts.


This week I have realized there are certain things I need to do...


1. I need to work out, very consistently. I should've known this already but I've let busyness and injury make the extent of my working out yoga with the occasional cardio on the weekends. This might be fine for some people but doesn't work for me. Last week I was coming home every day exhausted and my stomach was absolutely hating me for seemingly no reason. This week I made the decision that I was going to work out no matter how I felt and guess what? I feel 100 times better. Duh Kelly! Also, I went to the doctor today and my blood pressure is usually a consistent 110/60 and this time it was 120/62, probably just random but I am going to take that to mean CARDIO (and yes I am aware 120 is still normal, I just like to be below normal haha).


2. I need to blog. I totally fell out of the habit of blogging early this year again due to work taking over my life. However, work is one of those things for me that can easily occupy 24 hours a day or at least the hours I am awake. Blogging forces me to do something else with my night besides plan and search the internet for kindergarten ideas. And it's fun.


3. Eat a good breakfast and lunch. This is not news to me by any means but it was affirmed today when I accidentally forgot my breakfast/lunch I had packed in a bag at home. I've done this a few times (maybe like 5 times in 5 years?) before but I usually notice in time to go back or at least run to grab a lunch before the kids arrive, but today I didn't. I didn't have time to go get food so I ended up eating a bagel with cream cheese for both meals (don't ask). Don't get me wrong, I love bagels and I can easily handle one for breakfast with no problem, but two did not work. By 3pm my stomach was growling and I continued to pay for this after dinner when I still felt starving after having a dinner with tons of protein, carbs and veggies. I've been fighting the crazy urge to snack all day and just finally gave in and had a small bowl of ice cream- there might be popcorn during American Idol as well. I guess it's true what they say about the importance of a good breakfast and lunch huh?! Lesson learned.


What do you NEED to do health-wise? Or not health-wise if you prefer, just in life? haha :) Happy Hump Day... almost Friday!

  1. i need to start blogging more consistently too. i've been letting work just take over my life.

    for me i need to make sure that i have set plans with friends. otherwise i tend to just be a hermit which is sooooooooo not good for me.

  2. I need to do a lot! lol. I need to run the mileage I have planned for each week. I need to be a better trainee. I need to eat like a real person and cut the pasta out. OH and the cookies. I miss my Weight Watcher days when I was sooo good.

  3. I need to start eating more balanced meals again. I've been eating A LOT of carbs lately (pasta, bread, veggie burgers!) and while they taste delicious, especially after a long day at work, I've also been feeling more BLOATED lately!

    Tonights menu is beans, a little bit of rice and broccoli!

  4. I also need to work out consistently. Like you, I always feel better once I get myself moving. So with a good mix of cardio, weights, and classes at the gym, I have big plans.

    I also need to start writing better blog posts. I feel like I have much more to say that what I actually type. Gotta work harder at that! :)

  6. I think I have some catching up to do on sleep this weekend. :-)
    And I was having crazy snacking urges yesterday too. It was hard because there was really nothing in the house that I could have to satisfy my craving. I guess that's better in the long run, right?

  7. I need to pack my lunch 4 days a week. I work downtown so I am surrounded by endless food options and it can be really, really tempting. But really unhealthy! So I try to pack lunch 4 times and treat myself to a lunch 1 time a week.

    I need to wake up without an alarm on 1 day of the weekend. I sleep way way way way better when I don't have to set an alarm for some reason. Even though I have never slept through an alarm, I think I might have some alarm clock anxiety or something because when i do set my alarm, I tend to wake up MANY times and am always checking the clock.

    I need to run 3-4 days a week.

  11. I need to stop drinking so much soda! It's really getting ridiculous. That said, I did drink my quota of water for the day so that's good. I guess. :)

  12. Wow Kelly, I think out of all the blogs I read, you are the most consistent blogger, so I'm surprised that's one of your goals! For me, it's the opposite. I NEED to realize that blogging comes second to everything else in my life. Nick reminds me this everyday :) I need to start doing more dinner parties for friends too. It's a great way to get closer with other couples, and it's fun!
