Good As New

Hi everyone, I have missed you :)

I know I've been a bit of an on and off blogger since this summer as it is, but the last week + of no blogging was actually due to the fact that my computer had a little meltdown last weekend. I returned home from the BC/Notre Dame game to discover a computer that would not turn on. I arrived at the Apple store on Sunday when it opened and learned my logic board had died. Apparently this is basically your whole computer except the hard drive (yay! thats where my honeymoon pictures are- not backed yet, yes I know BAD Kelly). They fixed it for a very reasonable price and backed up my hard drive for free in case anything went wrong. Yay Apple! Now my computer is back and better than ever. And yes, I have already updated my backing up. Lesson learned.

I was planning to do a big post with lots of pictures of all that you missed, but then I headed down to the Cape for the weekend without my cord to plug in pictures. Oops. That's what I get for packing in about .5 seconds.

The last week in bullets...

  • I went to the BC/Notre Dame game last Saturday night. BC lost, but I still had a lot of fun tailgating with my family and my friends :)

  • I spend the day on Sunday fixing my computer and my cell phone (it wasn't sending e-mail before, now it is, yay!)

  • Wednesday night we celebrated Eric's brother's birthday (excuse me, my brother-in-law's birthday haha). He likes ice cream cake, but we have a tradition now of having a cake with a photo on it, so this time we had two cakes. Carvel ice cream cakes remind me of being a kid. Love them. I'll post the photo cake once I get the picture on my computer, it was good!

  • Thursday I went to a workshop after school about incorporating visuals into the classroom for students with special needs. I have learned a ton about this in general this year, and it was fun to see some of the things the pre school teachers do in their classroom. Our preschool is integrated so most of them have a LOT of special needs students. I am always amazed by how they do it.

  • Now I'm at the Cape for a long weekend- thanks to my friend Christopher Columbus who really didn't do much but I don't care because I need a day off :)

On the agenda for this weekend is relaxing, being a tourist and getting a bit of work done as well... it's that time of the year again for forming "professional goals." Unfortunately I don't think my principal will accept "make it through the year without getting a block thrown at me" as a goal... silly really, I think it's quite a good one.

Since I'm not all that exciting at the moment, I encourage you to visit some blogs that are...

Amber and Lisa are running a marathon tomorrow!!!!

Shannon just had a baby and Morgan I'm hoping is having a baby right now, either that or she is about to :)

ALSO, Meghan just gave her two week's notice and is enjoying some well deserved travel and relaxation and Madeline is moving from Phoenix to Philadelphia for a new exciting job!

Not going to lie, I don't want to leave my job (well sometimes), have babies or run marathons at the moment but I love reading about those that do :)

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

  1. Kel, have a great weekend. Blocks thrown at you are a true sign of love from your students, if it is thrown in haste, then, perhaps you need to sit down with the little whipper snapper!

  4. haha, I agree!! It's great reading about people running marathons, and having babies (I love Shannon!) but I'm not at that point in my life right now. The good thing is that I can learn things from blogs before I actually do it (NOT the marathon part though, that'll never happen).

Glad your computer got fixed. I had that same issue but I lost my entire hard drive last year (remember???). I now backup my computer at least twice a month.
