The Final Rush

Good morning! Guess who has today off? THIS girl. Yay :)

My district restructured our professional development this year to get rid of Curriculum Days (days where the kids stay home but we go to school). Instead we are doing more meetings before/after school. Of course this has been annoying all year (there has also been a ton of outside work to go with it), but today when I have this "Curriculum Day" off... I don't mind at all! I really can't emphasize enough how key it is to have a day like this to get organized for Christmas, there is a lot of preparation to do.

What's on tap for me today? Well #1- I woke up to snow outside. Can I just take this moment to say I've officially decided I really don't like snow? I used to be kind of apathetic about it. I've decided now I just don't like it. Sure it can be pretty, but mostly it's just an annoyance. It's going to take me longer to get places today and I'm going to have to give up time to shovel the driveway and walkway. Also I should probably find my scraper at some point. So #1- shovel. #2- go out and get stocking stuffers for Eric. I have 2 things but I want a couple of more. This is very typical Kelly to leave one tiny thing for the last minute. #3- lunch with my friend Susanne. #4 clean the house because we are hosting Christmas Eve tomorrow night! and #5 start packing for Florida trip on Sunday, or should I say hopefully Sunday since snow is in the forecast. Wah.

Anyway, sorry for the short post but lots to do today :)

What is everyone up to for Christmas (if you celebrate)?

  2. Yeah, I've become annoyed with snow now myself. At least in my part of MA we didn't get too much surprisingly. We're right on that weird weather dividing line on 495 so we usually get a lot.

Enjoy your day off and have a great holiday!!

  3. I am the same way about snow. I grew up in Chicago and have dealt with my fair share of snow. Its pretty at first but then it turns mushy and gray. Gross!!

This year I was really bad about gifts. I have one gift left to buy and a few little things here and there. Not to mention the baking I need to do for tomorrow.

I hope you have a great Christmas!

  5. I'm happy to hear you get the day off KElly!! I have today off too, and yesterday, which was SO NEEDED!! I have to work tomorrow though, which is my fault because I basically make my own schedule. Oh well.

Thanks for reminding me about he stocking stuffers, I need to do that today too. Specifically I need to buy lotto tickets because Nick loves getting those in his stocking!

Christmas eve is when we open gifts, with NIck's family, then with each other later in the evening. On Christmas we will go to my parent's house.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  7. Yep, I am so over snow. We are getting a little bit more today. Le sigh. We are close to breaking a record for the most snow fall in December ever, though, and I hope we do break the record because if we are giong ot have this much snow, it might as well break a record, right?

I am glad you get today off!! Nice to have some extra prep time! I am out of vacation time so will work today & tomorrow but they let us go at 2 tomorrow so that isn't too bad!

Tomorrow I will go to my brother's for Christams Eve. My parents will be there, too. We'll spend the night there which will be fun. Christmas morning my nephews will open their Santa gifts, we'll have brunch, go to church, and then I think my parents & I are going to come back to my condo and play games or we'll go to my aunt & uncles for the afternoon. We'll see. Christmas Day is sort of up in the air... We are sort of re-shuffling plans as I was going to be at Tom's parent's but wont' be doing that now, obviously... :( But it will still be a wonderful holiday!

  9. I am missing the snow this year! Don't get me wrong, it is really nice to be in AZ and have warm weather, but for me, snow is part of Christmas! It seems weird that everyone has out snowmen with their holiday decorations here and I doubt they have ever had a white Christmas!

I have been such a bad blogger lately and have barely posted, but I have been reading. I need to get in a few more posts before this break is over so I don't lose all my followers!!

    Merry Christmas!

  10. I am sitting in the Edmonton airport waiting to fly HOME! Can't wait to get home to see my family and Eric and spend time with them. We are doing Christmas Day at my mom's new house this year so we will wake up in the morning, open presents, have a big breakfast and then just relax all day - I'm going to do a lot of reading and maybe take a nap, and then have Christmas dinner!

    Enjoy your running-around day :)
