A few weeks ago I stated that I don't know how brides work up until the day or two before their wedding and still get everything done. While I think the knowledge that I would have a lot of time leading up to the big day gave me a lot of comfort in those last few weeks of school when I had no time at all, I now think that I just have way too much time and working would've been better.
I got to tutoring today and the mom thanked me like 20 times for coming when I have my wedding in a few days. I don't think she realized how excited I was to talk to people who are not wedding vendors and think about something else. There is just some actual importance in teaching a child to read as opposed to, "so which way do you want me to fold the napkins?" oh, just let me consult my napkin folding dictionary.
Is it just me or does it take a lot longer to do things when you have more time? It's like when you know you don't have time you are just more efficient or something?
In cool wedding news. Want to see my ridiculously awesome cake topper? If you are coming to my wedding and want to be surprised, don't scroll down haha
Yup, thats you. Stop reading.
This is funny since I have no idea how this spacing will really work in this post.
It's also funny for anyone who looks at pictures before reading like I sometimes do.
Haha, oh forget it you are going to see the cake topper NOW...
Yes that is my blog on the computer haha. My only regret is that I didn't somehow incorporate kindergarten into this cake topper at all, but oh well, it's me sans work :) Awesome, right?
So, Kelly, do you still actually work out?
That's you guys talking to me. I can't even remember the last time I mentioned exercise on my "healthy living" aka wedding complaint blog. So let's start now.
I have still be working out though. For most of June I was alternating between 2 days a week of yoga and either power walking or elliptical time. One notable change of routine was when my friend Ash and I biked 15 miles on the day of my bachelorette (before the rain kicked in!). The past week or so I've actually gotten back into some...wait for it...running!
For those of you who missed it, I've been nursing a persistent knee injury for over a year now that acted up as soon as I ran for even a couple of minutes. I am trying to move back into it extremely slowly for obvious reasons so I haven't run more than 8 minutes (alternated with walking), but so far the knee pain is pretty limited...so yay :) Maybe you'll see me doing another road race or triathlon at the very end of the summer? Just maybe...
I also still eat healthy :) Promise! I find that exercise and eating healthy are #1 for stress relief! Tonight I bought some salmon at the farmer's market and a summer squash. Put it together with leftover mashed potatoes for a stomach stabilizing dinner...
Yum. Now I just need some ice cream...
Anyone have an anti-rain dance I can do for Saturday? I know I said I wasn't going to look at the weather but since it says it's going to rain I figured I can look at it since clearly getting my hopes up is not an issue haha.
Rain is good luck! Hopefully the forecast will turn around.
ReplyDeleteAnd, in general, I actually find that the busier I am, the more productive and organized I am.
Omg I LOVE THE CAKE TOPPER! Seriously, LOVE LOVE LOVE. I didn't even know you could get cake toppers custom made like that!! SO cool!
ReplyDeleteKeep mixing running/walking. On my long runs, I do 9:1 (9 running, 1 walking) You could do 8:2 or 7:3 or whatever you feel comfortable with. I bet if you take regular walking breaks and ease into it slowly the pain will stay away! Good luck!
the cake topper is so much fun!
ReplyDeleteLOOOOOOVE the cake topper! I love the ice cream cones, too cute.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the running. I just started running again today, and I'm trying to take it slow too. I really don't want an injury!
So cute! I love that you have ice cream in your hand!
ReplyDeletecake toppers are adorable. can't believe you get married SO SOON!
ReplyDeleteOk, that is the coolest cake topper ever. I love it! Whoever did it is one talented person!!!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about getting more done when you have less time, or getting it done more quickly/efficiently. It's like your body releases adrenaline so you are super speedy when you have such little time.
I wish I knew of a rain dance!
love the cake topper! don't worry about rain, just send it my way, what's another few inches at this poing :)
ReplyDeletei mean "at this point."

ReplyDeleteYou are going to have a beautiful wedding day regardless of the weather. And when we both get back from our honeymoons, I would love, love, love to get together!
ReplyDeleteAnd the cake topper is adorable!
I think that I will be in the same boat, waiting to do whatever I can when my wedding comes up. IN other words, I'm very organized and I think I will be ready ahead of time (or at least mostly ready) and I'll be eager to do other things the week before, and hang out with NORMAL, NON-WEDDING people! I'm sure you are so excited and you need things to do to keep your mind off the wedding. I'm so excited and it's not even my wedding!!!
ReplyDeleteOf course you are still exercising and eating healthy. You're Kelly! That's great :)
I love the cake topper! Can't wait to hear more wedding details soon! :)

ReplyDeleteThat cake topper is amazing! Sooo cute! It couldn't be more perfect!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI am right with you on it being more difficult to get things done when you have more time! I am in that situation right now. Doesn't make sense!
Enoy the days before the big day! It's really hard not to be "stressed" at moments - but try your hardest to enjoy every moment!
Okay that cake topper is just EPIC!!! I seriously love it!!! I really do!
ReplyDeleteWe'll probably go much more low key which I like but just about now I kind of covet yours!
PS: Still SUPER excited for you and your big day!!!!
That cake topper is rockin'! Very adorable. I love that you have your actual blog on the computer.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great cake topper! So appropriate :)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe the wedding is here. It looks like it should be a great weekend. I'll be crossing all my fingers and toes that the heat breaks and that it doesn't rain. I am so happy for you!!
